Pablo Contraband launched Disco Deviant as club night back in 2009, with it’s musical focus on the PostDisco and Groove led scene that seemed somewhat absent in Brighton clubs at the time. Greg Wilson was their first guest and has since made a twice annual appearance at DD and rates it as one of the best parties he’s played at since his return to the booth in 2006, with an atmosphere to match.
Audio provides the perfect setting for Disco Deviant parties, the crowd love the dark basement and lasers, and the sound system is off the hook. Disco Deviant isn’t just about one sound, the dancefloor rocks to House, Disco, Edits, Techno … whatever fits. If it’s good, it’s good.
DD Guests have included – Greg Wilson, The Revenge, Andrew Weatherall, Rahaan, Cosmic Boogie, Horsemeat Disco, Norman Jay, Greymatter, Nocturnal, Wolf Music DJ’s, Simon Lee (Faze Action), Pete Herbert, Andy Blake (Dissident), Leftside Wobble, Matthew Burgess (Lowlife), DJ Butcher (Chopshop), Black Lodge/ Alphabet City, Danny Webb alongside Pablo Contraband who curates the night, is resident DJ and runs the blog, As well as DJing in Brighton he often shoots off to Paris and London and is playing at Vintage Festival again in July 2011.
