Warehouse Top 10 June

Article by Matt Bassant

1. Andre Crom - Reality - Dusky Remix

Deep-house duo go back to reality with this effort.

No prizes for guessing the sample, but used to great effect here. Dusky are absolutely on fire at the moment, with remixes for Hot Chip, and their own Flo Jam EP. This inspired remix is pure dancefloor magic.

2.  Solomun - Kackvogel

Deep house god gets all funky.

More classic samples pepper this funky effort from the Diynamic label head. A percussive workout and infectious bassline will get everyone grooving.

3. Eats Everything - Jagged Edge

The beast returns!

Can this Bristol bass-head do no wrong? Back to where it all began on Pets recordings, this draws on classic Chicago house and shows a darker side to his production. That pinched guitar lick will stick in your mind whilst you’re getting down to this one.

4.  Finebassen - Touching me

Cheesy, guilty pleasure, anthemic

This cheesy slice of deep house, centred around an addictive RnB vocal pushes all the right buttons, and its long breakdown takes it to new heights on the floor.

5. BreAcH - You won't find love again

Straight up house from the crooner

Ben Westbeech has been going from strength to strength under his house/bass music alter ego ‘Breach’, and this track is no exception. Big sustained synths, and a more straight 4/4 beat than we’re used to show his increased versatility in the genre.

6. Daniel Avery - Light into dark

Moody, deep dark disco

The artist formerly known as Stopmakingme, Daniel Avery is using his name change to take a tougher new direction – which we welcome. Like a beefed up Giorgio Moroder, the bassline in this slow burning stomper slays dancefloors.

7. Karma Kid - It's always

Uk upcomer with his bass laden vocal garage infected house.

After Disclosure, it seems there’s been an outbreak of ridiculously young and talented people breaking through in the garage-infected house scene. Karma Kid is another, just 17 years old and already creating tunes like this. One to watch.

8. George Fitzgerald - Child

Straight up Garage from the Aus music man

A chord heavy piece of garage/house from the London-based beatsmith. Been on heavy rotation for lots of big names so far in the festival season, certified bomb.

9. Flight Facilities - With you ft. Grosvenor (David August remix)

Druggy, Jilted take on the remix from David.

A drugged out, moody take on Flight Facilities’ most recent single. With beautiful production and a dark heart - whilst not exactly peak time material - is a must-hear.

10.  Mosca - Eva Mendes

Anthemic house music from UK bass superstar.

After the runaway success of Bax, the follow up was always going to be tough. Luckily Mosca was up to the challenge, and this dark roller does the business.
